responsibility

For centuries, minstrels and tutors used stories like this to teach moral lessons. In fact, using education to forward the King’s political agenda is certainly not a new idea. It is little wonder that our National Teachers’ Unions push forward the NEW LEFT agenda to our unsuspecting school children, and trusting parents have little or no idea what their children are actually learning. From the “Green” guilt trip to the global citizen, from the gay and lesbian lifestyle to sex ed to Kindergarten-age children, our children are being indoctrinated into the NEW LEFT where every business begins with a Union organizer, and ever home is whatever it is. No right or wrong. No absolutes. If it fits, it must be Tuesday, and all’s right with the global economy.

Union sets initial goals for implementation; will invest in training & advocacy

“It’s about the kids,” Van Roekel said. “NEA aims to ensure that every student has a qualified, caring and effective teacher. And NEA will support a stronger profession of teaching. I will put the full weight of our national organization behind this effort and expand on proven programs and successful innovations underway in our affiliates around the country. We have to ensure that teachers’ expertise isn’t confined to the classroom. Teachers should have more opportunities to strengthen their skills and knowledge and inform policy decisions that affect the classroom.”

“This agenda takes up some key recommendations of the commission and addresses long-neglected problems that have inhibited effective teaching,” said Maddie Fennell, the chairperson of the Commission on Effective Teachers and Teaching, and a fourth-grade teacher at Miller Park Elementary in Omaha, Neb. “It’s a crucial step toward more effective teaching and student learning and encouraging the union to meet those needs.”

The agenda has three major components:

    1. Raising the Bar for Entry

As we often hear, no one knows what kinds of jobs our students may be competing for in the decades to come. The only certainty is that, in order to prepare the coming generations of students, “All teachers must be effective—period,” Van Roekel said.

The first step, he added, must be to strengthen and maintain strong and uniform standards for those preparing for the education profession, both at the postsecondary-admissions and pre-service stages.

Drawing from recommendations by the Commission on Effective Teachers and Teaching and teacher-accreditation bodies, and to ensure that all teachers are rigorously prepared for the challenges of teaching, the NEA president called for:

  1. Every teacher candidate should have one full year of residency under the supervision of a Master Teacher before earning a full license.
  2. Every teacher candidate should pass a rigorous classroom-based performance assessment at the end of his or her candidacy. The union will urge broad expansion of the Teacher Performance Assessment now being piloted in states across the country to ensure that no one enters the teaching profession without first demonstrating classroom proficiency through clinical practice.
    2. Teachers Ensuring Teacher Quality

Raising the bar will help ensure that only qualified and capable teachers enter the profession, Van Roekel said, but as with any intellectually challenging profession, educators have to make sure that their skills stay sharp. To that end, the NEA president called for:

Advancing a tiered system of achievement for career teachers. Based on the commission’s recommendations, Van Roekel called for a new career path that has different compensation and responsibilities for Novice, Professional, and Master Teachers. Just as junior and senior members of any profession are given differing sets of responsibilities, the NEA president said, it makes sense, for example, for more advanced teachers to take on the challenges of the most difficult-to-serve students.

100 high-quality Peer Assistance and Peer Assistance and Review programs over the next two years. Van Roekel noted that PAR programs have already helped lead to marked student-achievement improvements through structured mentorships, observations, and rigorous standards-based evaluations of teachers in Columbus, Ohio and Montgomery County, Md. Principals recognize that they don’t have enough time to properly evaluate teachers all by themselves, and teachers can help lighten the load by more readily spotting flaws in other teachers’ pedagogy and providing practical recommendations for improvement.

    3. Union Leadership to Transform the Profession

As America’s largest education organization, Van Roekel said, it’s NEA’s responsibility to move the field of education toward greater excellence. To make sure this happens, he urged that:

Academia is a known supporter of OWS

Teachers must take on leadership roles. The absence of practicing teachers at the policy table has led to inadequate and poorly designed policies, the NEA president said. Teacher leadership, he added, needs to be something more than a handshake agreement between a given principal and teacher. It must be integrated into the structure of school leadership to leverage teachers’ on-the-ground expertise. “Many local NEA affiliates are helping teachers and schools improve their performance – and raise student achievement – because teachers are taking responsibility for improving instruction, curriculum, and school performance. When great teachers become great leaders, students reap the benefits,” Van Roekel said.

I understand how busy parents are these days, but how important are your personal values? With all the trash coming from so many directions, it is VITAL we, as parents, teach our children our values in a responsible, caring way. Remember, children learn “BULLYING” from parents and adults, so until WE act like adults, how can we expect children to learn acceptable behavior (as determined by your personal beliefs)? What are you willing to die for … to LIVE for?

It is one thing to see and eagerly point out the flaws and blatant errors of the current administration. Easy! They’re everywhere! I believe the majority of Americans see, although perhaps not … everything, but certainly enough to know we have changed course, and it doesn’t seem to be for the better! People are angry, frustrated, and scared! That’s NOT advantageous to the pursuit of happiness!

What are you willing to die for …
    to LIVE for?

The Great War & WWII were fought on foreign soil (mostly) for what? What was the objective(s)?

  • To free those interred at prison camps
  • To assist our neighbors (allies) in the defense of their land
  • How about to stem the tide of EVIL?

  • Prior to these WORLD WARS, our involvement in conflict focused on the establishment and protection of … America, of Our Land. In none of these instances was HATE a driving force for our involvement. Now, however, hate is spreading like wild fire, not only in our own nation, but around the increasingly chaotic globe. WHY?

Why does hate thrive? Because LOVE has not risen to the task … yet! Because FEAR rules. Isn’t that what terrorism is? FEAR!!!!! Our Seniors tremble in fear that their Social Security Checks and Medicare benefits may be slashed. Our young people fear the gathering darkness on the horizon, even though they do not understand the enormity of it. And those of us who know, those of us who have lived long enough to gain an ounce to two of wisdom are silent. We’re too busy with our lives. We don’t want to get involved. We are hurting, too! Or … It’s not really as bad as all that! Ha! We’ve waited long enough for a leader to rise up and take charge! It’s OUR turn!

For such a time as this, we have been empowered!
For such a time as this, we have been equipped!
We know the TRUTH, We have a LIGHT, We’ve seen God’s hand
For such a time as this we’ve been prepared!

The evil tide is rising, the swell, it floods the earth,
While good’s called bad and darkness, light,
With none to show the way.

For such a time as this, we have been empowered!
For such a time as this, we have been equipped!
We know the TRUTH, We have a LIGHT, We’ve seen God’s hand
For such a time as this we’ve been prepared!

There is no fear in love.
But perfect love drives out fear,
because fear has to do with punishment.
The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

    1 John 4:18

It has never been about the group. It’s about YOU and ME! It’s about the INDIVIDUAL! Each of us must choose. Each of us must decide NOT to be afraid. Each of us must define our beliefs and take a loving stand. We can’t trust big business, right? We can’t trust, the banks? We can’t trust our political leaders? We can’t trust the Courts … or the Media??? It is up to YOU and ME to take back our nation. It is up to YOU and ME to choose the HIGH Road and out of compassion, respect our differences. It is up to YOU and ME to determine what kind of America we leave for our children and our grandchildren! It is OUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!!! No one else’s! SO what will it be …

    LIFE or death?
    LOVE or hatred?
    FAITH or fear?

It’s time to decide … NOW! Decide how YOU want to live out your days, and start working it out. If we each do our part, we can redeem our nation from the encroaching evil, but not with hate! Hate kills; love builds!

    Capitol or School Yard?

All great change in America begins at the dinner table.”
    Ronald Reagan

What is more central to a civilization, a culture than the family unit? The strength and design of the family defines the culture, and, as such, its future.

    What is a Family?

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, a family is “a group of two or more people who reside together and who are related by birth, marriage, or adoption” (U.S. Census Bureau).

20 Signs That The Moral Decline Of America Is Spinning Wildly Out Of Control

*WARNING: Sensitive readers may be offended by photos

    WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!

“#1) 37 years after Roe v. Wade, 50 million babies have been killed and yet the United States is still continuing to abort babies with no end in sight.

#2) Cindy McCain, the wife of Republican Senator John McCain, and their daughter Meghan have both posed for photos endorsing pro-gay marriage forces in California.

#3) According to one new report, Barack Obama is planning to issue a letter in the next couple weeks that will guarantee U.S. government support for a plan to give much of the West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem to the Palestinians within two years.

#4) As if going through airport security was not enough of a hassle, now TSA employees are playing cruel pranks on passengers.

#5) Goldman Sachs has officially confessed to “improper behavior” during the housing crash – but they aren’t about to give all that money back.” READ ON

The belief that America is degenerating on a moral level is shared by both Republicans and Democrats. According to a new Gallup poll, 82 percent of Republicans and 78 percent of Democrats say that moral values in the U.S.A. are only fair or downright poor. 40 years ago, only 33 percent of Americans felt that way.

So what’s happened? First, secular forces have destroyed any rendering of Judeo-Christian philosophy in the public school system. Many teachers are now ordered not to make value judgments on behavior and not to push any specific moral standards. Thus children receive little if any moral guidance in class.

Second, with the rise of single parent homes, more and more American kids wind up unsupervised for long periods of time, left to the television set or the computer, where harmful material comes at them like rain in a thunderstorm.

Third, major corporations now traffic in sex and violence to an extent never before seen in this country. Americans spend more than $10 billion a year on porn every year. And violent video games gross billions more for corporations.

Fourth, peer pressure to actually reject immoral behavior is virtually non-existent in many places. The military criminals at Abu Ghraib never could have committed their crimes if other soldiers did not look away. The code of silence about bad behavior is an infectious disease among Americans. “The left insists on its constructs, on isolating entire groups into neat categories of oppressed and oppressor, but it can only keep those categories alive by perpetuating their disempowerment in one way or another. Take Griggs v Duke Power Co, in which the Supreme Court held that it was racist for a company to ask for a high school diploma of its employees, because such a requirement had a disproportionate impact on minorities. Like many of the loonier Burger court decisions, this one was scaled back over time, but what of the idea behind it. That social justice involves lowering barriers for qualification, thereby discouraging ability and competence.” READ ON

You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man’s initiative and independence. ~ Abraham Lincoln

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved. ~ Helen Keller

A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the user. ~

Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder. ~ George Washington

Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today’s world do not have. ~ Ronald Reagan

Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness. ~ George Washington

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves. ~ Abraham Lincoln

Discipline is the soul of an army. It makes small numbers formidable; procures success to the weak, and esteem to all. ~ George Washington

The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew. ~ Abraham Lincoln

    Each individual American is responsible
for their own behavior, attitudes, and words.
It’s time to rebuild America’s Moral Character!

We’re Done with Compromise, with Mediocrity, and Mis-Representation!

BOTH sides of the aisle have a history of flying above the Law and below the moral radar. Each side has their own banter, but the 2010 election began a turn … There is a rumble, a deep rumble as one by one, AMERICANS – WE THE PEOPLE are awakening. We look around and barely recognize our America. The rumble of dissent is growing. The rumble of Patriotism is rising. The rumble from the “home of the brave and the land of the free” can be heard in the distance, swelling in volume and intensity. Neither left, nor right, Liberal nor conservative, Democrat or Republican … but AMERICANS are beginning to see, to hear, to smell a rat that is stinking up the whole nation with poisonous words designed to terrorize and turn American against American.

Divided we fall; United, we Stand!

    America’s Moral Decline

“The book, entitled “American Social Diseases,” highlights problems such as crime and drug use, and a “spiritual and moral crisis.” The book says the U.S. suffers from a “spiritual deficit” and faces “moral extinction.” It also cites “excessive sexual indulgence” as a problem.”

“Although some observers whine and gnash their teeth about how this [“Strategic defaults”–walking away from your mortgage] symbolizes the decline and fall of American morality, it’s what corporate borrowers have been doing forever, so it’s about time we eliminated the double-standard. (It’s also the way your bank views you–as a business transaction–so don’t romanticize it as an Indian blood-promise.)” READ MORE

“Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Harry Truman could only dream of the kind of sophisticated and cosmopolitan understanding that folks in Peoria have now compared to the old days … By contrast, we have never had an Establishment that was so ill-equipped to lead. It is the Establishment, not the people, that is falling down on the job.” CONTINUE READING

WE THE PEOPLE need to retrace our steps. We need to find our “center,” our “CHARACTER.” We allowed it to slip away, not just in recent months, but over the last few decades. Piece by piece, bit by bit, the American Character was worn away by lies, greed, and self-indulgence. It’s not about religion, but about moral character. Moral character is what built America and what has sustained her. Unheard of sentiments like: take responsibility for yourself, finish what you start, be tough but fair, take pride in your work, and always do your best. Now, America’s character is “relative,” “subjective” – A hand up has become a hand out. A nation of individuals has become a pool of conformists. A nation of free and creative thinkers and entrepreneurs has become a nation of clones who spout the party line eloquently and wait for the prompts.

It’s not in labels or party affiliation, but in character, integrity, honesty. THESE are what Americans, what WE THE PEOPLE seek. We’re done with compromise, with mediocrity, and mis-representation! We’re holding our elected officials to accountability! WE THE PEOPLE are NOT as dumb as the elected elite seem to think we are. WE THE PEOPLE will speak until we’re heard, because this is OUR country!

    Preamble

    Congress OF THE United States
begun and held at the City of New York, on Wednesday
the Fourth of March, one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine.

THE Conventions of a number of the States having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best insure the beneficent ends of its institution.

RESOLVED by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, in Congress assembled, two thirds of both Houses concurring, that the following Articles be proposed to the Legislatures of the several States, as Amendments to the Constitution of the United States, all or any of which Articles, when ratified by three fourths of the said Legislatures, to be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of the said Constitution; viz.:

ARTICLES in addition to, and Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, proposed by Congress, and ratified by the Legislatures of the several States, pursuant to the fifth Article of the original Constitution.

    A Reason to Fight

    A Reason to Fight

    Dear President Obama,

“We The People” have stated resolutely we reject your vision for our country. You claim you have not heard us.

“We The People” have assembled across America resisting your efforts to subvert our constitution and undermine our liberty. You claim you have not seen us.

Since you have not acknowledged our message, let us here present it once more for if as President Wilson said, “a leader’s ear must ring with the voices of the people,” the time has come.

Our greatest treasure is freedom – the absence of restraints on our ability to think and to act. The corollary of freedom is individual responsibility. We believe in the power of the individual.

A few years ago President Bush said, “History moves toward freedom because the desire for freedom is written in every human heart.” Let us add that we will preserve it only as long as devotion to freedom is expressed in the heart of our actions.

When President Lincoln dedicated Gettysburg National Cemetery he declared, “It is for us the living to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus so nobly advanced.”

That unfinished cause for which our soldiers willingly go to battle and for which so many have given their lives is a free United States of America. It has been nearly one hundred fifty years and the work President Lincoln spoke of is not finished. In fact, that work will never be finished.

Freedom is the capacity of self-determination. It is not an entity but a condition and conditions change. Freedom can expand, yet so can it contract.
You promised change when you took office, Mr. President, but subjugation is not change we wanted or will accept.

You have expanded government, violated our Constitution, confounded laws, seized private industry, destroyed jobs, perverted our economy, curtailed free speech, corrupted our currency, weakened our national security, and endangered our sovereignty.

By compromising our nation’s cultural, legal and economic institutions, you are ensuring that our children will never achieve the same quality of life as we enjoy today. Through generational theft you are robbing the unborn of opportunity.

This is not acceptable. Not in America. We did not become a strong nation through hope but rather through self-reliance.

No one better understands the relationship between individual achievement, dignity and strength than our armed forces. Through every war our soldiers have held this nation’s destiny in their hands. They have not failed us. They cherish freedom enough that they are willing to die for it.

Our duty to them and to ourselves is to treasure freedom enough to live up to it.
We accept the challenge, Mr. President. That is why we are assembling across the land to deliver our message to you as often and in every way we can. Dismiss us at your political peril.

Our great nation is a Republic. We will not accept tyranny under any guise. Your policy to redistribute the fruits of our labor is Statism and will not be tolerated.

By our honor, Mr. President, we vow forever to resist coercive government in America. Patriots will not stand silent as you attempt to dismantle the greatest nation on earth. “We The People” will defend our liberty. We will protect our beloved country and America’s exceptionalism will prevail.

God Bless the United States of America!

    Sincerely,

    We The People

WE THE PEOPLE have a treasure worth defending. That is why we have an all-volunteer military. There are those who recognize the value of FREEDOM and have counted the cost, and are willing to sacrifice their own lives in the preservation of our Nation and her FREEDOMS. For generations, the comforts have home have lulled us into complacency while others by design or by default have stolen some of these freedoms. It is my prayer and my fervent hope that the revelations of the last 2 years have begun to awaken the complacent, sleeping Giant and that her people will unite under the banner of Honesty and reality in Government so the issues that threaten further freedoms can be dispelled vehemently and resolutely. To this end, WE THE PEOPLE embrace the US CONSTITUTION. A document, an ideal, a reason to fight!

Mr. President, We the People have not yet begun to fight

Thanks to VOTINGAMERICAN for the transcript for the “WE THE PEOPLE” video!
