Don’t be fooled by the polls showing Corbett behind. Those are “soft” numbers that don’t reflect the reality. It is important to remember that in the 1980’s Republican Governor Dick Thornburg was 15 points behind his challenger at this point 5 weeks before the election and won. So there’s no need for us to give up.

A little info …

Tom Corbett won the first debate with his opponent last week. In that debate Tom Wolf showed that he has no specific plan or ideas for PA and that his high tax and big spending ideas will drive jobs and prosperity out of Pennsylvania. Why would a Pennsylvanian choose a man with no plan, no experience, and only bad ideas shared with the worst President in American’s history? The next 2 debates on Oct 1 and Oct 8 will further reveal that Tom Wolf is not qualified to be governor.

Compare & choose …

Tom Wolf is a millionaire’s son who spent 13 years after graduation from high school being a “professional student” in college and the Peace Corps to avoid the draft. When he finally started his first job at age 31 he took over his father’s company. He’s never run for elective office and served only 2 years as Revenue Secretary for Ed Rendell which was largely a political appointment. Tom Wolf will be Pennsylvania’s version of Barack Obama with no experience, no qualifications and radical left wing ideas. By the way, Wolf has maxed out his contributions to Barack Obama.

In contrast, Tom Corbett has had a long career of public service starting as township supervisor in Shaler and serving as assistant district attorney in Allegheny County, U.S. attorney, and then PA Attorney General. Not only is Corbett experienced and competent but he is honest and decent with humility that Wolf seems to lack. Please check out this link to Tom Corbett’s web site for more info – http://www.tomcorbettforgovernor.com/

PLEASE …

This election is so important for the future of Pennsylvania and for the quality of our lives and the future of our children. We cannot just sit on the sidelines and allow our state to fall into the hands of those who will destroy jobs and prosperity. Everyone seems to have high level strategic ideas for how the campaign should be run, but the best way that we can can really affect the outcome of this election is by rolling up our sleeves and doing the needed grassroots work in our community to persuade people to vote for Tom Corbett. This means talking with friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers about Tom Corbett. It also means bumper stickers and signs in your yard and canvassing and phone calls. Too many people are not willing to work for good candidates and that’s why we end up with so many unqualified and corrupt elected officials.

Is the future of Pennsylvania important to you? If so, then it’s time for us to stop complaining and pitch in.

I wanted to inspire all you lovely readers out there … We are licking our wounds after yet another disappointing show by our, um, Representatives in DC. I participate in the Special Operations Speaks group on Facebook.

They posted the following, including a link to the Bill referenced, and one Patriot replied with a stunning and fresh outlook which I echo! Mr. Tusa shares an inspirational thought … ENJOY!

“H.R.2775, new law flips the power to raise the debt ceiling. It gives the President the power to raise the debt ceiling by fiat. The limp noodle Congress, then by passing a joint resolution, can send a bill to the President to sign to reverse the President’s fiat…Which he will VETO.

The President has the power of the purse.”

This President continues to shred the US Constitution at every convenience. Will he succeed in his intention to destroy this nation? it’s up to US – We, the People!

Michael Tusa’s reply: Thank You Mr. President! Yes, I said THANK YOU. Never before in the history of the United States of America has this nation been so sharply divided, a Congress so torn apart, people so passionate about the issues, whether you stand on the right or the left, conservative or liberal, Republican or Democrat. We all are concerned about the direction our nation is taking. This will increase the tone of debates and politicking from the local neighborhood group leaders all the way to Washington D.C. and all races in-between. People will not be so “ho-hum” when listening to debates, examining the issues, making uninformed decisions when going to the polls. As of this October and the fiasco of the “Divided House”, “Divided Senate”, and “Divisive President” WE have listened, WE have learned, WE have paid great sacrifices in money, paychecks, jobs, taxes, blood, sweat and tears, cost of living, and peace of mind knowing we live in the greatest nation on earth. BUT, we are AMERICANS. We WILL sacrifice, we WILL bear the cost, we WILL emerge from this fog ever so stronger, ever so more determined to keep our Constitution and Bill of Rights on solid ground, more determined to add height to the Statue of Liberty that she will stand above all nations, build a flagpole flying Old Glory that can be seen from horizon to horizon. And be the example of truth, justice, liberty and freedom that the world has known and expects of us. A nation where God can look down, smile and say “I BUILT THAT!” Yes sir, we thank you Mr. President for a painful wake-up call. A call that will result in truth, justice, and liberty that will stand tall in the future elections and cowardice and dismay will stand shaking and quivering in its boots. Lovers of the United States of America! We ARE coming back. We are coming back like the rain in a hurricane, we are coming back like every grain of sand we shed blood over on Iwo Jima, Normandy, Saint-Mihiel, San Juan Hill, Fort Sumter, Yorktown, Lexington and countless other battles. For all of you unbelievers, all of you non patriots. Hell IS coming. Its coming to the issues, the debates, the street corners, door to door, house to house, business to business. The American Voters are coming with it.

Thank you again Mr. President. I leave you with the words of another famous person who also angered the American public. Japanese Imperial Navy Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto “I fear all we have done today is to awaken a great, sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve”…….

Note: I have been asked to give my permission to share this post. The word and permission is given my fellow PATRIOTS. Godspeed to the retaking of America!!!

So are we AWAKE yet? Ready to make some tough decisions?

    Right Wing Obamacare Myths DEBUNKED

    via The Matt Walsh Blog

“Man, I hate these stupid, crazy, tea bagging right wingers. So foolish, so uncivilized. They run around screaming like crazed anarchists about how they want to stop Obamacare. Damned idiots don’t realize that the government needs to be involved in our health care decisions; we’re too helpless and feeble to handle it ourselves — unless we’re making the “medical” choice to get an abortion, in which case, THIS IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, YOU GOVERNMENT PIGS. GET OUT! I mean, leave your wallet on the table, ’cause I’m gonna need you to pay for this, but then GET OUT, JERK.

“There are many scare tactics being used by the tea baggers in an effort to discredit Obamacare. Personally, I hate scare tactics. You should never let anyone scare you away from supporting socialized medicine, mostly because without it every poor person in the country will get sick and die. Anyway, like I said, I disapprove of scare tactics.

obamacare-exemptions-259x300“They claim that Obamacare will raise taxes, but this has been PROVEN false so many times. You know it’s been proven because I capitalized “proven.” Sure, there might be a few minor billion dollar taxes, like the individual mandate tax and the employer mandate tax, the Excise Tax on Comprehensive Health Insurance Plans, the Tax on Health Insurers, the Tax on Innovator Drug Companies, the High Medical Bills Tax, the Medicine Cabinet Tax, the Tax on Indoor Tanning Services, and the Excise Tax on Charitable Hospitals. And, yeah, there might be a small number of multi-billion dollar tax hikes on things like the Medicare Payroll tax and the “black liquor” tax and the HSA Withdrawal tax. And, OK fine, we’ll even see some tax deduction eliminations, like the deduction for employer-provided retirement prescription drug coverage.

“But besides, like, 20 new taxes and tax hikes totaling, like, hundreds of billions of dollars, there aren’t ANY tax increases attached to Obamacare. None. NONE. See? I did the capital letter thing again. Pretty convincing stuff.

call to defund it“The redneck Tea Party crazies have even gone so far as to completely LIE about the impact Obamacare will have on the workforce. They insist that businesses are actually being forced to cut hours and lay off employees just to comply with the “burdensome” Obamacare rules and regulations. Again, this is a fabrication. Businesses aren’t cutting hours. Besides Walmart, Regal Entertainment, Trader Joe’s, Subway, Firehouse Subs, Sea World, Lands End, Dave and Busters, White Castle, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Home Depot, and academic institutions like Philadelphia University, Sam Houston State University, Ball State University, Georgia Military College, Three Rivers College, Hillsborough Community College, and University of North Alabama, and county governments in Indiana, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Michigan, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as school districts like Middletown Township Public Schools in New Jersey, Millard School District in Utah, and Shelbyville Central School System in Indiana, along with over 280 other businesses, universities, school systems and town governments, literally NOBODY is losing work because of Obamacare.”

If OBAMACARE is the “Law of the Land,” …

    1. why does the President keep finding portions he wants to delay? It’s ONE Law … either it is LAW or it isn’t??? Another section delayed just today! (9/26/13)

    2. why does the President keep making EXEMPTIONS for his friends in BIG BUSINESS (GE, GOOGLE, etc) and more importantly, for CONGRESS (large gov’t subsidies), and for friendly HOLLYWOOD celebs?

    3. what gives PRESIDENT OBAMA the authority to PICK & CHOOSE which PARTS of the LAW to ENFORCE and what parts NOT to ENFORCE? WHO MADE HIM KING?

    Awaiting answers …

    change you can believe in

    America, We Need to Talk!

Yes, America, you and me, we need to talk:
Do you want to be slave, or do you want to be Free?
That’s the question: Do you need to be Free,
    As time exchanges blunt realities.

America, you and me, we need to talk:
Freedom is about personal choices, dreams and goals,
But today, we are starved for such Life, Liberty,
And the drive to pursue happiness: slavery.

America, you and me, we need to talk:
Leadership that chooses, with friendly masks,
To enslave by lethargy the weak among us,
With pretty words and outstretched hands: slavery.

America, you and me, we need to talk:
We used to know, and usually did, the right thing,
The noble thing, the virtuous thing, the neighborly thing,
Now, it is the pampered, arrogant, and selfish thing that thrives: slavery.

America, you and me, we need to talk:
I hear you say, through the veil of myriad sleep juice,
“Look at me now, dressed up so gangsta tough!”
But your heart is rotting within you, my love: slavery.

America, you and me, we need to talk:
So much corruption and so little honor,
So much manufactured contention and so little real caring,
So much competition and so little family: slavery.

America, you and me, we need to talk:
You plus me is supposed to equal we-the-people free,
It’s a musical equation most of us still know:
“O’re the land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.”

America, you and me, we need to talk:
Old Glory still waves gracefully from coast to coast,
Over this land of immeasurable blessing,
No longer quite free, but I see pockets of COURAGE rising!

    one-nation-under-god1

The foundation of God is secure. The events of life do not change it. The words of the politicians and celebrities do not change it. They are a SURE revelation, and they are all still true. The Gospel plan of salvation is still valid. The hope of eternal life is still sure and steadfast. God’s plan for His people as individuals, as local churches, and within nations is still valid. None of this changes at all.

AMERICA’s Foundation is God. That is not what the left-wing politicians are saying. Nor is it what the NEA bound teacher’s are teaching our children, but Truth doesn’t change. America’s foundation is still God regardless of what our leaders may say.

    America the Beautiful

    Words by Katharine Lee Bates,
    Melody by Samuel Ward

    O beautiful for spacious skies,
    For amber waves of grain,
    For purple mountain majesties
    Above the fruited plain!
    America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
    From sea to shining sea!

    O beautiful for pilgrim feet
    Whose stern impassioned stress
    A thoroughfare of freedom beat
    Across the wilderness!
    America! America!
    God mend thine every flaw,
    Confirm thy soul in self-control,
    Thy liberty in law!

But that is HISTORY, not now. Now, American’s are ridiculed and mocked if they choose to live a life of faith. Now, Americans are told to leave God at home, tucked safely out of sight lest someone be “offended” by the sight of an act of faith. Now, American’s bicker over the details, the symptoms of our sick and depraved society, now disavowing SCIENCE in favor of sin! Now, God is relegated to the closet while morally ignorant Americans or simply lost Americans revel in their ignorance. Politicians and celebrities proudly proclaim the glory and “freedom” of our Modern society while crime rates soar, hatred divides, bigotry spreads, and mental/emotional illness reaches astronomical proportions.

    • Divisions based on hatred and mistrust are better than neighborly communities? REALLY?
    • Violent crime rates climb and Politicians only seek a bandaid not a cure? REALLY? Chicago has the toughest gun restrictions in the nation and still their crimes rates continue to increase.
    • The numbers of impoverished Americans (with flat screen TV’s, cars, a/c etc, and daily trips to McD’s, but not enough real food) climbs above the number of WORKING Americans, and still no jobs in sight, but this is progress? REALLY?
    • Our economy is about to collapse, like Cyprus, Italy, and France, but sure, let’s print more paper money. BETTER?
    • Our nations medical care is undergoing a major change that was supposed to take care of the poor and help those with pre-existing conditions. OOOPS! It’s going to cost the POOR $2500 a year and those pre-existing conditions? Sorry, can’t help! There is a net result. There will be less/worse care for most people or higher costs or both.

One “seeker” has built a movement he calls, the THRIVE Movement based on a molecular structure called a torus, a self-generating, self-managing system. My question is … Did this “torus” create itself, or was God the designer? If God designed it, why not seek to build a relationship with the Designer, more than the Design? Just sayin …

The Solution is really much simpler than all that.

    Our Foundation!

Thomas Jefferson, letter to Henry Lee, 1825 – “This was the object of the Declaration of Independence. Not to find out new principles, or new arguments, never before thought of, not merely to say things which had never been said before; but to place before mankind the common sense of the subject, in terms so plain and firm as to command their assent, and to justify ourselves in the independent stand we are compelled to take. Neither aiming at originality of principle or sentiment, nor yet copied from any particular and previous writing, it was intended to be an expression of the American mind, and to give to that expression the proper tone and spirit called for by the occasion.” MORE HERE

In fact, GOD is so intimately entwined (not just the idea of God, but HIM) into the fabric of this nation that it is unconscionable to think of the America we see today without the recognition of our God barred from public life. God is in our Anthem, our songs, our poetry, our stories, and permeates our history thoroughly. As Thomas Jefferson recognized (in the banner of this blog,) there is also an intimate relationship between the calamities that began with 9/11 and the rapid decline in our nation economically, morally, and socially. God is our nation’s Foundation, and if a building’s foundation is damaged, disrupted, or destroyed, what happens to the building? COLLAPSE!

This is not what GOD wants! He wants to help America, to rescue us from this horrendous downward spiral. POLITICS, however important, will NOT solve the problem. Hollywood cannot solve the problem. MONEY cannot solve the problem. BIG BUSINESS cannot solve the problem. What is left? Exactly! GOD!!! We are beyond all human help at this point, crashing down upon the consequences of doing things our own way, our human way. It will not work! It is up to the individual American to save America by coming into agreement with our Creator. It is only as we rediscover who GOD really is and learn HIS ways that the destruction brought about by our godlessness can be reversed. Otherwise, calamity awaits!

“There is a way which seems right to a man
    and appears straight before him,
but at the end of it is the way of death.”
    Prov 14:12

    B U T

    if my people

“Then if my people, who are called by my name,
    will humble themselves,
if they will pray and seek me and stop their evil ways,
I will hear them from heaven.
I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land.”
    2 Chronicles 7:14

The First Amendment: Religious Freedom, and Freedom to Speak, Print, Assemble, and Petition

    The First Amendment: Religious Freedom,
and Freedom to Speak, Print, Assemble, and Petition

We hear a good deal nowadays about “a wall of separation” between church and state in America. To some people’s surprise, this phrase cannot be found in either the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. Actually, the phrase occurs in a letter from Thomas Jefferson, as a candidate for office, to an assembly of Baptists in Connecticut.

The first clause of the First Amendment reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” This clause is followed by guarantees of freedom of speech, of publication, of assembly, and of petitioning. These various aspects of liberty were lumped together in the First Amendment for the sake of convenience; Congress had originally intended to assign “establishment of religion” to a separate amendment because the relationships between state and church are considerably different from the civil liberties of speech, publication, assembly, and petitioning.

The purpose of the “Establishment Clause” was two-fold: (1) to prohibit Congress from imposing a national religion upon the people; and (2) to prohibit Congress (and the Federal government generally) from interfering with existing church-state relations in the several States. Thus the “Establishment Clause” is linked directly to the “Free Exercise Clause.” It was designed to promote religious freedom by forbidding Congress to prefer one religious sect over other religious sects. It was also intended, however, to assure each State that its reserved powers included the power to decide for itself, under its own constitution or bill of rights, what kind of relationship it wanted with religious denominations in the State. Hence the importance of the word “respecting”: Congress shall make no law “respecting,” that is, touching or dealing with, the subject of religious establishment.

In effect, this “Establishment Clause” was a compromise between two eminent members of the first Congress—James Madison and Fisher Ames. Representative Ames, from Massachusetts, was a Federalist. In his own State, and also in Connecticut, there still was an established church—the Congregational Church. By 1787–1791, an “established church” was one which was formally recognized by a State government as the publicly preferred form of religion. Such a church was entitled to certain taxes, called tithes, that were collected from the public by the State. Earlier, several other of Britain’s colonies had recognized established churches, but those other establishments had vanished during the Revolution.

Now, if Congress had established a national church—and many countries, in the eighteenth century, had official national churches—probably it would have chosen to establish the Episcopal Church, related to the Church of England. For Episcopalians constituted the most numerous and influential Christian denomination in the United States. Had the Episcopal Church been so established nationally, the Congregational Church would have been disestablished in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Therefore, Fisher Ames and his Massachusetts constituents in 1789 were eager for a constitutional amendment that would not permit Congress to establish any national church or disestablish any State church.

The motive of James Madison for advocating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment was somewhat different. Madison believed that for the Federal government to establish one church—the Episcopal Church, say—would vex the numerous Congregationalist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, Quaker, and other religious denominations. After all, it seemed hard enough to hold the United States together in those first months of the Constitution without stirring up religious controversies. So Madison, who was generally in favor of religious toleration, strongly advocated an Establishment Clause on the ground that it would avert disunity in the Republic.

In short, the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment was not intended as a declaration of governmental hostility toward religion, or even of governmental neutrality in the debate between believers and non-believers. It was simply a device for keeping religious passions out of American politics. The phrase “or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” was meant to keep the Congress from ever meddling in the disputes among religious bodies or interfering with the mode of worship……..MORE HERE

    We are coming

    CALLING ALL AMERICANS

For some time there have been isolated voices of leadership among the grassroots people of this land. They’ve expressed frustration an dismay at the lack of courage and commitment to our Constitution exhibited by the current leadership of BOTH political parties. Fidelity to America seems pushed aside by simple human avarice. Yet there are leaders in the wings awaiting their time. I ask my readers to continue to pray for our nation and her leaders, wherever/whomever they may be. One way or another, We-the-People must unite as AMERICANS!!! Not Liberal or Conservative, not left or right, not Democrat or Republican, not White or Black, Jew or Gentile, Protestant or Catholic … or any of the other imaginary lines drawn to separate us. We are either AMERICAN or not. Period. If we are American, we must embrace our Constitution or change it legally, but as We-the-People.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Retired Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, chairman of Stand Up America, has just unveiled the liberals’ worst nightmare, a plan to unite the tea party into a vast army to turn America back to its constitutional roots.

      teapartypatriots

The plan was one of several steps Vallely announced Sunday afternoon at the South Carolina Tea Party Convention.

“We’re in a battle for America. We must save America and today we’re going to do it,” Vallely said. “America is at a crossroads, and it’s up to us to take the right road and get this country back again. We’ve got to do it. We’ve got to stand up.”

Vallely has been at the forefront of calls to return America to her constitutional roots by removing “usurpers” from office. Among those is a call for a House-led parliamentary style vote of “no confidence” in the Obama administration.

While such a vote would send a message that Congress believes he has violated his oath of office, it would not be legally binding.

Vallely has said the American people are frustrated now because of the lack of leadership seen by those who claim to adhere to the Constitution and conservative values. More HERE!!!

    tea-party-movement-something-brewing

    from TEA Party Movement Platform:

Preamble: The Tea Party Movement is an all-inclusive American grassroots movement with the belief that everyone is created equal and deserves an equal opportunity to thrive in these United States where they may “pursue life, liberty and happiness” as stated in the Declaration of Independence and guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.

No one is excluded from participation in the Tea Party Movement. Everyone is welcomed to join in seeking to achieve the Tea Party Movement goals, which are as follows:

    1. Eliminate Excessive Taxes – Excessively high taxes are a burden for those exercising their personal liberty to work hard and prosper as afforded by the Constitution. A fiscally responsible government protects the freedom of its citizens to enjoy the fruits of their own labor without interference from a government that has exceeded its necessary size, scope and reach into the lives of its citizens.

“Collecting more taxes than is absolutely necessary is legalized robbery.” –Calvin Coolidge

“A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of good government.” –Thomas Jefferson

“Any tax is a discouragement and therefore a regulation.” –Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

    2. Eliminate the National Debt – By implementing fiscally conservative policies at all levels of government, progress can be made toward eliminating the U.S. National Debt. Massive increases in the National Debt have created and continue to create a huge burden for the next generation of Americans, thus imperiling the country’s short-term and long-term economic health and prosperity.

“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” –Abraham Lincoln

“If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.” –Thomas Paine, 1776

“As on the one hand, the necessity for borrowing in particular emergencies cannot be doubted, so on the other, it is equally evident that to be able to borrow upon good terms, it is essential that the credit of a nation should be well established.” –Alexander Hamilton, 1790

    3. Eliminate Deficit Spending – All deficit spending must be eliminated immediately. We insist that government representatives at all levels maintain a fiscally responsible budget and balance the books as would be expected of any American business.

“Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness.” –George Washington

“A penny saved is a penny earned.” –Benjamin Franklin

“Tomorrow, every Fault is to be amended; but that Tomorrow never comes.” –Benjamin Franklin

    4. Protect Free Markets – America’s free enterprise system allows businesses to thrive as they compete in the open marketplace and strive toward ever better services and products. Allowing free markets to prosper unfettered by government interference is what propelled this country to greatness with an enduring belief in the industriousness and innovations of the populace.

“That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well.” –Abraham Lincoln

“You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man’s initiative and independence.” –Abraham Lincoln

“The government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” –Ronald Reagan

    5. Abide by the Constitution of the United States – The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land and must be adhered to without exception at all levels of government. This includes the Bill of Rights and other Amendments to the U.S. Constitution and their provisions designed to protect states’ rights and individual liberties.

“A general Dissolution of Principles & Manners will more surely overthrow the Liberties of America than the whole Force of the Common Enemy.” –Samuel Adams, 1779

“The Constitution is the guide which I will never abandon.” –George Washington

“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.” –Abraham Lincoln

    6. Promote Civic Responsibility – Citizen involvement at the grassroots level allows the voice of the American people to be heard and directs the political behaviors of our representatives at both the local and national level so they, in turn, may be most effective in working to preserve the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness of this country’s citizens.

“The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.” –Patrick Henry

“To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.” –Abraham Lincoln

“Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light” –George Washington

“All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” –Thomas Jefferson

    7. Reduce the Overall Size of Government – A bloated bureaucracy creates wasteful spending that plagues our government. Reducing the overall size, scope and reach of government at both local and national levels will help to eliminate inefficiencies that result in deficit spending which adds to our country’s debt.

“My observation is that whenever one person is found adequate to the discharge of a duty…it is worse executed by two persons, and scarcely done at all if three or more are employed therein.” –George Washington

“If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretense of taking care of them, they must become happy.” –Samuel Adams, 1802

“Energy and persistence conquer all things.” –Benjamin Franklin

    8. Believe in the People – The American people, given their guaranteed freedoms, will thrive in a democratic, capitalist environment which allows individuals to strive toward ever greater achievements, innovations and the efficient production of needed and valued goods and services.

“Industry need not wish.” –Benjamin Franklin

“Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.” –Abraham Lincoln

“The people will save their government, if the government itself will allow them.” –Abraham Lincoln

    9. Avoid the Pitfalls of Politics – American politics is burdened by big money from lobbyists and special interests with an undue influence on the peoples’ representatives. The Tea Party movement is seen as a threat to the entrenched political parties and thus is the continual target of smear campaigns and misrepresentation of its ideals. We choose not to respond to these attacks except to strongly and explicitly disavow any and all hate speech, any and all violence as well as insinuations of violence, and any and all extreme and fringe elements that bring discredit to the Tea Party Movement. We are a peaceful movement and respect other’s opinions and views even though they do not agree with our own. We stand by the Tea Party beliefs and goals and choose to focus our energies on ensuring that our government representatives do the same.

“I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.” –Abraham Lincoln

“Honesty is the best policy.” –Benjamin Franklin

“Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.” –George Washington

    10. Maintain Local Independence – The strength and resilience of a grassroots movement is the ability of citizens at the local level to determine their own platforms, agendas and priorities free of an overriding central leadership. Exercising the clearly stated message of the Tea Party movement by its nature involves discourse about which policies and candidates best hold to our stated principles, and these various opinions should flourish and evolve at the local level.

“Here sir, the people govern.” –Alexander Hamilton in a speech to the New York Ratifying Convention, 1788

“Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories.” –Samuel Adams, 1781

“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it.” –Abraham Lincoln

Walter Russell Mead: Sarah Palin: America’s Foreign Policy Messiah? Governor Sarah Palin observes flight operations aboard the USS Stennis By Gary P Jackson While doing research for the article: Carolyn Glick: U.S. Needs Sarah Palin’s Foreign Policy, Not Rick Perry’s, I came across this piece from Walter Russell Mead, who Caroline Glick quotes in her article. Mead is a proponent of Jacksonian/Reaganesque foreign policy. The title of his article, written back in February, may be a bit much, but his thinking is spo … Read More

Church And State Quoting R.C. Sproul: In America, we have a long history of valuing the concept of the separation of church and state. This idea historically referred to a division of labors between the church and the civil magistrate. However, initially both the church and the state were seen as entities ordained by God and subject to His governance. In that sense, the state was considered to be an entity that was “under God.” What has happened in the past few d … Read More
