It really is simple! For thousands of years, men of education, and assumed intelligence, have sought to explain what is elementary enough for the youngest, most simple-minded among us to grasp. We complicate it with sophistication, assuming we can improve the experience of history: HIS-STORY! We complicate it with lofty knowledge’s elaborate words trying to impress … whom? God? or man?

From before Creation was spoken into existence until the time of His-story’s culmination, GOD is LOVE. That’s it! Every thought, every word, and every action of God is motivated, directed, and empowered by LOVE. Unconditional Love. A Perfect Father’s Love.

fear_false_evidence_appearing_real

Problem: Burdened by inexplicable (and unaccepted in our society) guilt, we hate our Self. And because we hate our Self, we are unable to fully love any one or anything. We can’t give real love or receive it. We Fear instead. We fear alone-ness. We fear one another. We fear our differences. We fear our sin. We fear our Self. And we blame God.

Our imperfections, our sinfulness, cloud our understanding of God, of Love, so we distrust Him. This causes a separation resulting in loneliness, which is not about people, but about missing our closeness with Father God. In our loneliness, our vision (still clouded,) we see the brokenness and imperfections in others and feel repelled and rejected.

NEWSFLASH: GOD IS LOVE!!!!! Not just ambiguous, unfocused, vague, and random, but person, intimate, accepting and individual love. Every minute of every day, GOD is literally moving heaven and earth to LOVE YOU. He will not quit until your life’s last breath is gone.

Just a few of the hundreds of promises that are yours and mine!

Just a few of the hundreds of promises that are yours and mine!

What’s more … Every promise, every promise, every promise contained in His book … between Genesis 1 and Revelation 22 is a personal promise for YOU (and me.) But to see these promises fulfilled, though some again make it complicated, the only requirement is that you RECEIVE them. Of course, to do that, you must first have some belief that God can and will actually come through.

From the beginning of time, God knew we would fall, we would not always do the right thing. God knew, and because He didn’t want us to be estranged from Him indefinitely, so He set up a plan to reconcile us. It meant sending Himself in human form, Jesus, to live as a sin-free man. This enabled Jesus to choose to pay the price of my sinfulness, suffer and die on the cross, then walk out of the tomb, conquering death. Why? because He loves us and wants to hang out with us. Everything he says, everything He does, and everything He speaks comes from that Love … Everything!!!! He wants to love us outrageously, lavishly, happily, boundlessly forever! It’s really that simple!

Ray Comfort: Here is a rule of thumb when reading the Bible: “With God, nothing shall be impossible.”

Now you can believe that seas can open, food can fall from the heavens, the sun can stop, whales swallow people, animals can fit on a boat, arks float, walls tumble, and fish can multiply. It’s really quite simple.

Nothing is impossible in your personal life. Nothing is impossible in your family. No thing is impossible in this nation, if we return to God, receive His love and pass it on to one another freely, as He commands! God can fix what is broken in America, but first, we have to ask Him!

I wanted to inspire all you lovely readers out there … We are licking our wounds after yet another disappointing show by our, um, Representatives in DC. I participate in the Special Operations Speaks group on Facebook.

They posted the following, including a link to the Bill referenced, and one Patriot replied with a stunning and fresh outlook which I echo! Mr. Tusa shares an inspirational thought … ENJOY!

“H.R.2775, new law flips the power to raise the debt ceiling. It gives the President the power to raise the debt ceiling by fiat. The limp noodle Congress, then by passing a joint resolution, can send a bill to the President to sign to reverse the President’s fiat…Which he will VETO.

The President has the power of the purse.”

This President continues to shred the US Constitution at every convenience. Will he succeed in his intention to destroy this nation? it’s up to US – We, the People!

Michael Tusa’s reply: Thank You Mr. President! Yes, I said THANK YOU. Never before in the history of the United States of America has this nation been so sharply divided, a Congress so torn apart, people so passionate about the issues, whether you stand on the right or the left, conservative or liberal, Republican or Democrat. We all are concerned about the direction our nation is taking. This will increase the tone of debates and politicking from the local neighborhood group leaders all the way to Washington D.C. and all races in-between. People will not be so “ho-hum” when listening to debates, examining the issues, making uninformed decisions when going to the polls. As of this October and the fiasco of the “Divided House”, “Divided Senate”, and “Divisive President” WE have listened, WE have learned, WE have paid great sacrifices in money, paychecks, jobs, taxes, blood, sweat and tears, cost of living, and peace of mind knowing we live in the greatest nation on earth. BUT, we are AMERICANS. We WILL sacrifice, we WILL bear the cost, we WILL emerge from this fog ever so stronger, ever so more determined to keep our Constitution and Bill of Rights on solid ground, more determined to add height to the Statue of Liberty that she will stand above all nations, build a flagpole flying Old Glory that can be seen from horizon to horizon. And be the example of truth, justice, liberty and freedom that the world has known and expects of us. A nation where God can look down, smile and say “I BUILT THAT!” Yes sir, we thank you Mr. President for a painful wake-up call. A call that will result in truth, justice, and liberty that will stand tall in the future elections and cowardice and dismay will stand shaking and quivering in its boots. Lovers of the United States of America! We ARE coming back. We are coming back like the rain in a hurricane, we are coming back like every grain of sand we shed blood over on Iwo Jima, Normandy, Saint-Mihiel, San Juan Hill, Fort Sumter, Yorktown, Lexington and countless other battles. For all of you unbelievers, all of you non patriots. Hell IS coming. Its coming to the issues, the debates, the street corners, door to door, house to house, business to business. The American Voters are coming with it.

Thank you again Mr. President. I leave you with the words of another famous person who also angered the American public. Japanese Imperial Navy Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto “I fear all we have done today is to awaken a great, sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve”…….

Note: I have been asked to give my permission to share this post. The word and permission is given my fellow PATRIOTS. Godspeed to the retaking of America!!!

So are we AWAKE yet? Ready to make some tough decisions?

A D-Day Mourning

tree of liberty

  • What has changed in America since the young men on D-Day challenged the entrenched Germans on Normandy’s shores?
  • What inspires a generation to such greatness, such selflessness, such courage or causes it to self-destruct?
  • What unique assurance did these young soldiers hold that their struggle would not be in vain?

A different American culture raised these young men (and women). Some, no doubt, would call them “Old-fashioned,” but I call them enlightened. They understood the cost of Freedom. They knew their sense of destiny meant sacrifice, and they were responsible enough to go anyway … in spite of the cost. The cries of those imprisoned in German camps called out to them, and they … honor bound, had to go.

Where is this courage today? Where is this commitment to OTHERS? We went, not with the goal of gaining new lands or conquering a people, but simply to set the oppressed free. A noble and achievable goal.

Oh that the courage of these heroes, and the moral indignation they shared in the face of tyranny and immorality would rise up again in the American people. I call it forth, that very boldness. There will be a time to act. Meanwhile pray!

OBAMA’S AMERICA: A COUNTRY WITHOUT HISTORY

Thousands upon thousands, from the open-mouthed boats they splashed,
From salty sea water tinged red with solders’ blood,
Wave after wave, forward they crashed
Toward the daunting cliffs in an uphill flood.

Liberty’s bell rang loudly in their ears,
Driving them toward the cries of the persecuted and oppressed,
Calling each heroes name, calming their fears,
Uniting them and empowering them on to the noble quest.

Heroes one and all, by the thousands, they bled and fell,
While more and more behind them, Allied troops drove on,
They fought and sought to claim nothing for themselves,
Just the moral rightness of tyranny’s oppression gone.

Thousands upon thousands, with their hands out they stand,
Today’s oppressed masses, expecting something for FREE,
They have not been taught, and just don’t understand,
The grain of wheat must fall and die so life and liberty can be.

*John 12:24

GOD = Love, the 3 Omni’s, and Liberty

God is freedom, God is love, God is omnipotent, God is omnipresent, God is omniscient

The-God-Who-Is

People are wondrous creations. We are builders, creators, and investigators. We are communicators, instructors, and nurturers. We are healers, helpers, and leaders. Each of these (and many more) is a facet of our Designer, GOD. We are made in His image, not He in ours. (Gen 1: 26-28 NASV)

Most Americans equate God with church. Right here, I will separate the two. God is NOT the church and the church is not GOD. According to the Bible, The Church – made up of all who “call on the name of Jesus” for salvation – is the Body of Christ. (1 Cor 12: 12-13, 27) Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. He is our Source and our Goal, not the church.

Problem is, people are fallible. We are imperfect. We are finite, limited in both what we can comprehend and what we can accomplish. Therefore, the church is imperfect, inadequate, and falls short in its mission of Love. It is simply impossible for a finite human to encompass the vastness and the intimacy of God. We each receive a “measure of faith.” (Romans 12: 3) Many of us have experienced betrayal, intolerance, or arrogance from people who align themselves with Christ via the church. Whether priests with perverted sexual appetites or dogmatic church leaders or sheepish followers with little understanding of the Bible, our limitations and imperfections must be seen as a separate entity, attached to God, but NOT God!

GOD = Love, the 3 Omni’s, and Liberty

    work-of-art_1_large

  • Most of us, as Americans, have heard that God is love. (1 John 4: 7-14) Some have heard and seen various illustrations of this concept. If we can pull ourselves back from the adventure, history, stories, and Laws of the Bible to see an overview from Genesis 1 through Revelation 22, we can trace the single most alluring, captivating, compassionate, and determined love story ever written. It is God’s love story for you and me. It meets us at our conception within our mother’s womb and calls us “fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139) God’s love calls him to leave the safe 99 in search of the lost one to return to safety. (John 10:11-15)

God’s love is deeper, stronger, wider, and steadfast … unchanging … eternal … and unconditional. It is foreign to our human experience. It is intimidating! It is empowering! It is FREE, but will cost each of us everything! It will also enable us to stand no matter what happens in our lives, our nation, or our world. GOD IS LOVE!

  • There are three words that are attributed only to GOD:
      the sovereignty of god

    1. Omnipotence: 1275–1325; Middle English < Latin omnipotent- (stem of omnipotēns ), equivalent to omni- omni- + potent- (see potent1 ) all powerful; having great or unlimited power; almighty or infinite in power, as God.
      • He made the sun stand still in the sky at the request of Joshua. (Joshua 10: 12-14)
      • Matthew 19: 23-26 tells us that “it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God,” but “with God all things are possible.”
      • Jesus declared himself to be the “Resurrection and life” and then followed with illustrations. In John 11, we find the story of Lazarus, who grew ill and died. He and his sisters were followers of Jesus, so at the sisters sent for Jesus. Lazarus had been in the tomb 3 full days when Jesus arrived and called him forth from death back to life. (John 11: 17-44)
      • Jesus was also beaten & crucified (for no crime but disputing the doctrine & authority of the religious and political leaders of the time) – documented history. His body, however, is no longer in the tomb. His remains have never been found. Hundreds of people saw him AFTER his death walking around with some of his followers. (Luke 23:44-24:12)

    2. Omnipresence

    3. Omnipresence: God is everywhere! Psalm 139: 7-12
7Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
        8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the dawn,
If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand will lead me,
And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will [g]overwhelm me,
And the light around me will be night,”
12 Even the darkness is not dark [h]to You,
And the night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are alike to You.

    4. God's Omniscience

    5. Omniscience: God knows all!
      • Psalms 147:5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.
      • Proverbs 5:21 For a man’s ways are in full view of the LORD, and he examines all his paths.
      • Matthew 20:17-19 “[17] Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, [18] “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death [19] and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”

    RediscoveringGrace

  • FREEDOM is God’s idea! From the notion of Free Will, which arguably is what separates us from the other animals, we can catch a glimpse of Gods heart of freedom. It’s about CHOICE! The argument that God could have created us puppet-like, therefore eliminating the possibility of evil, has been debated throughout history. But God gave us FREE WILL so we could CHOOSE to follow him. Further, God provided guidelines to lead us into the fullest, most satisfying life possible. We choose daily to try our own ways, and when we fall, we either blame God for abandoning us, or we admit our willfulness or ignorance and try his way. God knows there are behaviors and thought patterns that can bind us, that can gain control our lives, but He steers us around those if we allow Him, because He wants us to be free.

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.”
    Galatians 5:1

I am worthyWe must choose to remain free, to walk in the freedom Christ purchased for us. This is the freedom that drove those early pilgrims to the New World of America. This is the freedom that drives us as humans to pursue our dream. This is the freedom that inspires invention, creativity, and innovation! This is the freedom that has been allowed to flourish in America, that inspires Americans to pursue not only their dream, but that thing within each of us that connects us to God.

We are builders, creators, and investigators. We are communicators, instructors, and nurturers. We are healers, helpers, and leaders. Each of these (and many more) is a facet of our Designer, GOD. We are made in His image, not He in ours. He is free because He is God. We are free because we are made in His image, to reflect His character, His creativity, His mercy, His justice, His ingenuity, and His compassion.

  • None can love freedom heartily but good men;
the rest love not freedom, but licence.

    -John Milton 1608 – 1674

An All-Over-the-Board Conservative Rant

The conservative is concerned, first of all, for the regeneration of spirit and character — with the perennial problem of the inner order of the soul, the restoration of the ethical understanding,
and the religious sanction upon which any life worth living is founded.
This is conservatism at its highest.

Russell Kirk

So, are we all holding our breath to hear the President’s speech? Yea, that’s what I thought. We’ve heard it all before, several times, in fact. Yes, we know JOBS is this administrations #1 Priority … so where are they? Unemployment is a big issue, so why hasn’t it changed much? In fact, among minorities and women, unemployment is higher now than when Obama took office! Oh, and then there’s the war and how’s he’s going to end the war in Afghanistan. How about the war throughout AFRICA that no one ever talks about?

I cannot well express the deep seated angst that broils within me as I hear the daily resounding drum beats of destruction echoing across the airways: “Look how the mighty America is falling!” Though some still wave the flag and recite tales of heroism from our illustrious past, these few are spat upon and ridiculed in thought, word, and deed. So we hang our heads. We mope. We gripe. We kick the dirt not realizing, not grasping the absolute truth that WE are the MAJORITY!

Yes, WE are the MAJORITY

irate minority or squeaky wheelWhat we aren’t is the “squeaky wheel.” You remember, “it’s the squeaky wheel that gets the oil!” We’re not the squeaky wheel. It’s the “It’s not fair!” folks, the “I need more,” folks, and the “I can’t do that” folks that get the oil, the attention, and the pandering arm of the government.

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

There’s a woman that swims at the same pool as me. We became friends but all we do now is smile and nod an understanding nod in acknowledgement of our shared conservatism. We’re there, after all, to swim, not to gab. But we share a camaraderie in hoping for a positive turn each day only to hear more and more lies, more and more bad policy, and more and more evil motivated actions (not just other party-ness) on the part of this administration. She is a paralegal in a major law firm in Pittsburgh. I need say no more.

I received the popular memo from my place of employment as follows:

    Dear Barbara,

As of January 1, 2013 paid vacation time will be based on 30 average hours per week after eligibility achieved. Vacation pay can be received once in a twelve month period, and is calculated on your current hourly rate. This change is a result of the Affordable Care Act.

    Sincerely…

What’s Wrong With This Picture?

These are Marines from Marine Barracks 8th and I marching in the 2013 Immaculation of The One. Notice anything missing? Yup, the bolts have been removed from the rifles. This isn’t just removing firing pins or some other manner of rendering them inoperable, which is a prudent move for a perfumed potentate hell bent on destroying everything these warriors are sworn to defend. To me this is a blatant, deliberate and public emasculation of those whom the pretend emperor knows he can not [or ought not] trust. This goes hand in hand with the purge of the senior leadership of the military, and is a clear message to the Corps, following hard on the heels of the disgraceful way in which Gen. Mattis was sacked from CentCom.

no halfstaff for ChrisThis slap was matched by the slap that came with the death of Chief Chris Kyle, the most highly decorated military sniper shot while hanging out with a fellow vet suffering from PTSD. Now I love the music of Whitney Houston, and certainly her voice is unmatchable, but for the nation to memorialize her drug-induced death and NOT the heroic life and death of Chief Kyle is inexcusable. With the various cuts and threats of cuts aimed squarely at the military, President Obama leaves little doubt about his feelings toward them as they “serve” him as CIC!

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

I happened upon a facebook page yesterday called The Imaginative Conservative and a whole new world opened up for me. I was welcomed by the quote to the top of this post by Russell Kirk. I had never heard to Russell Kirk before nor known he was a foremost thinker and writer of Conservative thought. His thoughts, at least those initially found on his site, confirm my gut yearning, my overwhelming urgent cry to ring in the rebirth of our nation by cleaning up our own lives: MORALITY!

our trespassesMy heart cries for this nation. I’m ashamed to be part of the generation that stood by and watched our nation go down in the flames of immorality. Unless we, as Americans, can throw off the shackles of perverted, pseudo-freedom we see around our nation today … Oh God, unless we can take a righteous stand and usher in the mercy of God, we have seen the end of government sanctioned FREEDOM. Freedom, however, is an eternal longing built into every man, woman, and child. FREEDOM, itself, cries to be released among the peoples of the earth.

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

This I know:

  • There is no freedom without responsibility.
  • There is no freedom without morality.
  • There is no freedom without the Source of Freedom: GOD

“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
2 Corinthians 3:17

Man cannot take away what God has given. If we believe our Rights, our freedoms are unalienable, bestowed on us by our Creator, then no matter the Laws of men, our Freedoms remain untouched!

Can morality exist without religion, YES! Can morality exist without GOD, NO! Morality cannot be a changeable thing. What is right is right, and what is wrong is wrong, and these are written on our hearts and minds. It’s called Natural Law. Look it up!

Air force, and Coast Guard, Army, Commander-in-Chief, Dear Mr. Romney, marines, navy, US Military, US Military Veterans

This is Any Soldier, but not necessarily the actual author of the letter printed here, for obvious reasons.

Open Letter to Mitt Romney from Active Duty Service Member

The following was sent to us by an active duty service member currently serving abroad, and is published here with his permission:

    Dear Mr. Romney,

I serve my country and have done so for a decade – the thought of another four years of our current direction saddens me. If you do not win, I and many others may find ourselves unemployed as massive cutbacks begin to take hold. It is frightening to picture our warriors standing hopelessly in unemployment lines; this is a fate they do not deserve. There is a paradigm shift occurring, and it is doing so at an astounding pace. We are becoming a nation that does not honor its protectors. We have begun to take from them and to take them for granted… This is a result of the chasm that has widened over the last few decades… A chasm of indecency and selfishness.

Please allow me to explain. Our policies have begun to shift towards victimization; we laud the individual that has always taken and never given. We empower dependency and encourage its advocate. We force those who have already given so much to give more. How long will our nation sit by as its heritage of strength and fortitude is laid to waste? I am saddened as I ponder all those who have made the greatest of all sacrifices… Have their souls been laid to rest in vain?

I am hopeful that someday I can call a man such as yourself my Commander in Chief. But, for now I serve in the Middle East. I and many like me stand watch over our nation. We wear her flag and protect her honor. We are her keepers. We sit silently as crowds gather on Wall Street to profane her name and exercise their right to free speech. We have always protected even those that do not appreciate the awesome price of their freedom.

This may never make it to Mr. Romney… But know this sir; the service members that have sacrificed so much these past 11 years are tired. We cannot afford to sacrifice more; we cannot stand in unemployment lines as policies destroy what we’ve shed blood to build. Many in the Armed Forces are pulling for you… We need you to win; we need you to pull our country from the brink. Please work hard for those that have always given for our nation. Our brothers’ bodies have left their imprints on the battlefield, their blood has stained the soil of foreign nations, and tears wet the cheeks of those they leave behind. The price is great, it demands the blood of the brave and bold, and it calls for the lives of those filled with courage. Yes… It is a terrible price, but our flag must always fly. Our nation is a lighthouse for all who seek freedom; it guides them as they navigate the rocky shoals of liberty. I implore you sir – remember the sacrifice, remember the price and win.

    Sincerely,

    A Guardian of Freedom

MY COUNTRY ~ Tis of Thee, Sweet Land of Liberty … ?

American Dream, American ideal, Individual rights, personal happiness, shining light on a hill

“I work hard. I’m not rich, but I have enough.
I take care of my family, provide for their needs.
I haul my weight and that of my family.
I will work to take care of them,
I don’t need subsidies or tax dollars spent on me.
Nor do I want to be taxed so those who choose not to work
and procreate more of their kind can live off my earnings.
Got it? Now lemme alone so I can work!”

MY COUNTRY ~ Tis of Thee

Once upon a time, America was inhabited by hard-working, proud, legal immigrants, grateful for a place to thrive and raise their families without fear of oppression for political, religious, or ethnic reasons. From the war ravaged European nations or nations undergoing harshly difficult times, these new Americans were eager to become part of the ideal for which America stood: … land of the free and the home of the brave! Land of the free and home to those BRAVE enough to build their dreams through blood, sweat, prayers and tears. AND Grateful, so very grateful for the chance!

Where is this American ideal today? If America was founded as “the shining light on a hill,” is her light still shining?

In human terms, America was founded for a specific reason. That reason was FREEDOM > > > Freedom to worship their God as they chose. Freedom to live as they saw fit. Freedom to be who they wanted to be. A new American didn’t have to be rich to own land enough to build his dream. He just had to do it! To work at it until he saw it finished.

This is America to me.

  • I was taught the notion of the American “melting pot” with neighbors from just about every imaginable European background. There were the McKuen’s two generations out of Scotland. The Dominico’s with 5 daughters, the Midocks with a back yard ice-skating rink, the Amslers, the Dills, the Allens, Davinski’s. It was not a big deal. The Polumbo’s were “rich” because they had a NEW car. The Perez family talked funny, but they were really nice. America was different than other places because we could be different and still be friends.
  • I was taught to be polite to everyone and to respect people, each individual. I was taught to behave. That means I was given acceptable boundaries, and if I strayed (which I occasionally did,) I paid a price (consequences!) I was taught not to lie or cheat. That when I did, I really only hurt myself.
  • I was taught to treat others the way I wanted them to treat me. To plant seeds of respect to reap respect. To plant seeds of kindness, and it would come back to me in my time of need.
  • I was taught to respect every person equally – There really was such a thing a “color-blindness,” maybe not everywhere, but where I grew up, it existed. A person’s sexuality was a completely private thing and simply not an issue. I know how foreign this sounds, but … it was real once.

  • Where has MY America gone?

    • I believe there are more people who care and want to help one another than there are those who only want to take.
    • I believe there are more people who believe in God than those who choose not to, but I also believe NEITHER side needs to shove their beliefs on the other. (respect)
    • I believe there are more people who understand responsibility and accountability than those who don’t, though we may have forgotten the benefits.
    • I believe there are more people who live by a moral code than those who don’t know right from wrong, but those who don’t need instruction and accountability … fast.

How many Americans today have read our founding documents: The Federalist Papers, the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution itself? How many have read the great works of our Founding Fathers and the works that influenced their political thought? People like John Locke, Cicero, Adam Smith, Montesquieu, and many others wrote brilliant papers on political thought that our Founders digested and miraculously amalgamated into the New Experiment that has now flourished for more than 235 years. Perhaps we are not Americans at all since we are uneducated, unlearned in what the idea of America is, what true Liberty is.

I believe our Founders knew what might happen if corrupt men and women were elected by an ignorant population – a population unaware of the Source of Liberty and the key elements to maintaining it, the utmost of which is a moral people seeking to better itself, to develop more virtuous character. This is like a foreign language to many today. Our ignorance has cost us much. Hopefully, it will not cost us

    America Needs to Re-discover
    Her Identity

Maybe we should ask the rest of the world to help us re-define our American Identity? Do we want to be known as the Global Bullies? or the Good Neighbor? The New Age “Robin Hood” (stealing from the rich and giving to the poor?) or The New Age Emancipator, freeing individuals to rise above their circumstances and find a noble purpose in wholesome work and daily, self-sustaining life? Do we want to be known as the spoiled brats of the world? it’s NOT up to government to define us. It’s up to the American people to decide where we go from here. Mistakes have been made all the way around. I’m not talking about political party here. I’m talking about ideals – about what direction WE-THE-PEOPLE want our nation to go. Freedom is only freedom until mine steps on yours, that’s why the Constitution is so vital and so perfect.

Somehow, we have to find our way through this fog until the Constitution once again lights our path with Providential blessing.

Good grief! This speech could have been given today … Americans, are you listening??? UP or DOWN? THAT is our choice!

    What is important to you?

  • freedom to worship, or not, as you see fit, or allowing the sterilization of America from all religious affiliation and influence?
  • freedom to say what’s on your mind, or intimidation by way of political correctness?
  • freedom to live as you choose or a multitude of restrictions on your lifestyle and invasions into our privacy?
  • freedom to build a family or state issued “family units” defined by government?
  • freedom to choose your friends or political pressure toward specific group affiliations?
  • freedom to pursue purposeful work with reasonable compensation or government assigned “lemming” work?
  • time to pursue hobbies, pleasures, enjoyments or no money or time for such frivolousness?
  • happily involved in volunteerism and helping the needy or or hoarding “stuff” in fear?
  • helping others out of compassion or taxed exorbitantly to feed & house those who don’t want to work?
  • Help up or hand out?

  • “I predict future happiness for Americans
if they can prevent the government
from wasting the labors of the people
under the pretense of taking care of them.”

    Thomas Jefferson

Born Alive Infant Protection Act, Pro-choice, Pro-Life

    Obama and Infanticide

By Jeremy Pierce on February 22, 2008

Barack Obama’s opposition as an Illinois State Senator to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act has been making the rounds, with a lot of people overstating their case on both sides. Some conservatives are taking this as a sign that Obama thinks infanticide is morally ok, and some liberals are acting as if his approach is what any supporter of keeping abortion legal before viability should say. I’m not sure either is true, but I’m also not sure this reflects well on Obama.

Here is the law. It says that if a baby is born alive, whether by intended delivery or by failed abortion, it is legally a person, a human being, a child, and an individual. It counts as born alive only if it is completely removed from the mother (ignoring an umbilical cord connection, which does not count as a sufficient connection according to this law). Partial-birth abortion is thus not ruled out, because a partial birth is not a complete removal of the fetus. As long as the birth has not fully taken place, this law threatens no actual abortion rights.

Obama’s reason for not supporting this ban is not because he thinks it’s ok to kill a born fetus. As far as he’s said, he does not actually support infanticide (and he didn’t vote against the law; he just voted present, although that in itself was part of a strategy devised by Planned Parenthood of Illinois to protect pro-choice politicians from voters seeing how pro-choice they are). For his actual words, see comment 9 here. What he says is that he worries about the logic. Here is what seems to me to be his argument:

      1. The Supreme Court has declared laws banning abortion before viability to be unconstitutional.
      2. There is no difference between the moral status of a fetus inside its mother before viability and the moral status of a born baby at the same developmental stage.
      3. Therefore, banning the killing of a born baby at this stage is morally tantamount to banning abortion at a pre-viability stage. (from 2)
      4. Therefore, the law is unconstitutional. (from 1 and 3)

This argument does not amount to supporting infanticide morally. It is merely an argument based on the constitutional issue. According to Supreme Court precedent, this law is unconstitutional, and thus it’s pointless to pass it. He gives no moral argument against the ban, just a pragmatic one. So from this speech alone it’s impossible to get any clear support for infanticide.

Nevertheless, I think this is a terrible argument. The first premise is clearly true. I would argue that the second is also true. I see no difference in the intrinsic moral status of the fetus merely because it is contained within someone or is separate. However, I don’t think 1 and 3 guarantee 4. There’s no legal reason why morally inconsistent laws can’t occur. You can ban something that’s morally equivalent to something else that’s unconstitutional to ban, as long as the first thing isn’t unconstitutional to ban. But the real problem I have with the argument is his inference from 2 to 3.

The standard pro-choice argument is not that a mother has a right to kill a fetus growing within her. Only the most extreme abortion-choice proponents hold such a view. The standard view is that a woman’s right to control her body is morally more important than whatever rights a fetus might have. That argument allows for a fetus to have some sort of moral status such that killing it would be prima facie wrong, even if the bodily rights of the mother outweigh that. What this means is that the standard pro-choice argument does not accord a mother the right to the death of the fetus. If it survives removal, her rights have been satisfied. That means the moral status of the fetus is what kicks in to determine what you should do in such a case, and this law settles that question. It does not threaten the woman’s bodily rights, at least not according to the standard justification of abortion rights.

What this tells us about Obama is that he probably doesn’t hold to the standard justification for abortion rights. If he thinks 3 follows from 2, then he must think a mother actually has a right to the death of the fetus growing within her, even if it’s born. If he thinks the moral status of the fetus is what justifies keeping abortion legal, then he must think the pre-viable fetus has no moral status and thus a born pre-viable fetus has no moral status. So the right to expulsion isn’t what gives the right to abortion. What gives that right, on Obama’s view, is the utter lack of moral status of a human organism halfway through its uterine development.

Now this is a view that some people have. Mary Anne Warren has a paper defending the view that infants born at full term have no intrinsic moral status. She gives other reasons to oppose infanticide, but she doesn’t base those on moral status of the fetus. Peter Singer and Michael Tooley actually defend infanticide as morally permissible. But these views are extremely radical. Obama’s view (as far as we see here) may not be as radical as Warren’s, never mind Tooley and Singer’s, but I think it’s still far more radical than the view of the majority that supports pre-viability abortion rights.

The U.S. Senate voted 98-0 in favor of a law virtually identical to this one (with the only exception being a clause that makes it explicit that this law doesn’t change any legal status of pre-born fetuses). Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) gave a floor speech explaining why no pro-choice Democrat should worry about such a bill undermining or conflicting with the Supreme Court’s guarantee of abortion rights. Hillary Clinton was among the 98 Senators who voted yes. No senators voted no. Yet Barack Obama refused several times to sign on to what a unanimous U.S. Senate was willing to pass. So I think this is a very good example of how far to the left Obama really is despite the unfounded sense that so many people have of his being a moderate. > > > READ MORE

NOTE: If this were the ONLY issue, it’s still more than enough reason to vote Obama OUT November 6th, 2012! Don’t be late!

    The Man Is a Sneak

    The Man Is a Sneak

    By Richard Butrick

President Obama claims that he is an “ardent believer” in the free market:

Contrary to the claims of some of my critics-and some of the editorial pages-I am an ardent believer in the free market. …

Government has a vital, if limited, role to play in fostering sustained economic growth and creating the foundations for you to succeed.

Obama is definitely not a socialist in the sense that he believes in government takeover of private companies. From Halliburton to McDonalds, from Exxon to Old Navy, Obama is not proposing government ownership. The GM takeover, rather than being a contrary example, enforces the point, as the company was returned to private ownership. GM went from Government Motors back to General Motors. Obama is not proposing any form of government takeover of private industry.

But claiming that he sees that the legitimate role of government is limited to that of fostering economic growth is a deception of the first order. Obama sees the role of government as that of ensuring everyone gets his fair share. That is what his “you didn’t build that” rant was all about. While the Wright brothers used bicycle parts to build their airplane, they didn’t invent or make the bicycle parts.
In short, Obama does not believe that the “hands off” private-enterprise, free-market system distributes wealth fairly.

But with that said, it is hard not to come to the conclusion that as far as Obama is concerned, his vision of social justice and supervised “hands on” capitalism cannot be successfully argued and sold to the American public. In this he agrees with the Alinskyites, and indeed, the pedigree of this line of thinking goes back to the Fabian Socialists. He can’t package and sell his vision, but he knows he is right, so he is going to use subterfuge and sleight-of-hand to implement his vision. In that, he is a grifter for social justice.

While publicly professing ardent admiration for the free market, Obama and his myrmidons are busy behind the scenes using the regulatory power of government to nudge its citizens to the land of the dependent and home of the drone. Social justice regulations are smuggled in under banking regulations, under consumer protection regulations, under food and drug regulations, under commerce regulations. ObamaCare is rife with social justice regulations.

Here are some headlines and opening passages that openly use the term “sneak”:
“Obama sneaking in legislation again to serve his own personal agenda”:

Obama signed a defense policy bill today, and in the midst of that, slipped in hate crime legislation. The two are totally unrelated, and the fact that he used the defense policy to serve his own agenda is not only disrespectful to our military personnel, but also our country. In addition, I fear down the road it could be construed in such a way it would prevent us from defending the country against terrorism. If the language is in with this policy, it could be deemed applicable to our military combat against terrorists. True to typical behavior, Mr. Obama can’t get support by any other means, so he goes behind our backs like a spoiled toddler trying to slip his hand in the cookie jar before dinner, hoping no one will catch him.

“Energy Department sneaks offshore moratorium past public. Jobs and oil-supply potential are shut down”

“Obama Sneaks Anti-Gun Laws Past Congress”

“Obama sneaks in UN Treaty by Executive Order”

    “Sneaking end-of-life consultations into Obamacare”

“Obama’s budget is a sneak attack on our Second Amendment …”

Mitt Romney has raised the issue of Obama’s secret intentions. He told a group of newspaper editors recently that Obama “doesn’t want to share his real plans before the election, either with the public or with the press, … His intent is on hiding; you and I are going to have to do the seeking. … He wants us to reelect him so we can find out what he’ll actually do.” > > > READ MORE
