inFreedom is rapidly unraveling,
as the foundation upon which our nation was built
is disassembled virtue by virtue.
What once was revered as a worthy achievement,
now is mocked in derision
as old-fashioned and out of touch.
The Freedoms millions
fought and died to establish and protect,
are now squandered lightly
in exchange for empty promises and vain excuses.
As if foreign enemies are not enough,
certain elements within our nation
have inoculated us with a “Fear Vaccine,”
turning neighbor against neighbor,
father against son, and brother against brother.
This fear vaccine works backwards, deceptively,
multiplying fear and sowing mistrust,
spreading its contagious terrorist poison.
Worse yet, the vaccine was messed up on purpose, by design,
it is force-fed to those tossed on the waves of political correctness,
breeding dependence on our vainglorious government.
The love of money remains the root of all evil,
and this love of money and power corrupt any
who venture near without a well-worked moral compass.
Count the windows to the top of the tallest building,
the rungs of the proverbial ladder of success,
and they will sing the song of the few who have stood strong.
Short the song may be,
but still the few and noble names resound,
perhaps more dimly now, but still ever present.
The song echos,
while few new names join the heroic list,
but those in uniform lost in battle.
Death by piano as famous names die
and drop off the edge of the earth,
lost in time without their personal North Star.
With no absolute moral compass,
all noble hearts turn cold,
conquered by the universal lust for MORE.
Thanks, BEKINDREWRITE! Great prompts, as always!

inI don’t see how anyone with even half a working brain can believe the continuing policies that are growing the debt exponentially can in any way right the ship. What are they thinking?
No one wants to admit they were wrong, or made an error. President Obama is Chief of excuses since, naturally, everything that has gone wrong or that has NOT gone right must be someone else’s fault. This is one of the obstacles we face in the upcoming election. Surely some of those who voted for Obama wish to change their mind, but can they swallow their pride to do so? Time will tell!
For decades now, children have been taught “Sex Education” in schools in the failed hope of warding off unwanted pregnancies. Simultaneously, they have been taught evolution, and that we are really no different than other primates. They have been taught, in schools, through media bombardment, and political correctness, that it is just expecting TOO much to think human adults (not talking teenage exploration) can harness their sexual hunger control their urges. It is simply not possible, according to the progressive by-line. Strange, how millions of humans have done so for centuries, in complete health and welfare without government assistance or cruel chastity belts!
Just as the Liberals teach “Exceptionalism” is a BAD thing, they also discourage humans from exercising their personal, moral strength in behavioral issues of everyday life. In other words, Liberals sell us all short! We’re better than that! Stronger than that! Today’s Women want and have earned the right to CHOICES! Just because liberal women do not think highly of themselves enough to value their individual choices, doesn’t mean they can ascribe their amorality on ALL women!
What some bright Democrats are beginning to realize is that the Democratic Party has left most loyal Democrats behind. Today’s Democratic Party is not the Party we grew up with or that our parents grew up with. In fact, it is no longer lead by “Democrats,” but by “Socialists,” with a generous sprinkling of Communists mixed in. This poses a real dilemma for the average union worker, teacher, or state employee as they seek to vote their conscience. Many of these folks have always voted Democratic, but they have become aware of the mishandling of Union funds by their leaders. They have become aware of the Un-American attitudes of some of their Party leaders, and they are honestly torn.
I expect many issues to arise over the next few months as distractions. President Obama cannot run for re-election on his successes because there have been NONE! Well, maybe we’ll give him the capture of Osama Bin Laden, after all, he did allow the event. But from the budget (which btw is still a joke) to his debt management (which is also a joke) to his “Hope & Change” (which is now known to be only smoke & mirrors) to his National Defense strategy (Is there one?), this administration has not only allowed the first (and subsequent) credit downgrades in history and aided and abetted the “enemy” in what was called the Arab Spring, but we now know was nothing more than the takeover by the Muslim Brotherhood of each of the governments involved and more to come, most likely. He has also welcomed these same Muslim Brotherhood representatives into the White House while reviling the current Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, to his face and behind his back.

Virginian-Pilot|by Kate Wiltrout
Loss of power, or loss of control?
That may be the biggest question facing the team investigating the cause of last Friday’s jet crash in Virginia Beach.
The Navy has said the F/A-18D Hornet that hit an apartment complex shortly after takeoff from Oceana Naval Air Station experienced a “catastrophic mechanical malfunction,” but a detailed explanation will likely take weeks or months.
Boiled down to the most basic terms, the Navy investigation will try to determine whether the doomed Hornet had a problem with its engines, which stopped generating thrust needed to keep the jet aloft, or experienced failures of its hydraulic system or electronic flight controls, either of which could have rendered the aircraft uncontrollable.
Beyond that basic distinction, things quickly get complicated. Various scenarios could lead to either outcome:
** A ruptured fuel line spews jet fuel into a hot engine bay, which catches fire.
** Birds are sucked into one or both engines.
** A “foreign object” — like a wrench accidentally left inside an engine during maintenance — causes a major malfunction.
** The flight control computers fail shortly after takeoff, forcing the plane into an unfamiliar mechanical backup mode that gives pilots far less control.
** Fan blades fly out of an engine that has catastrophically failed, cutting hydraulic and fuel lines.
The so-called “legacy” Hornet — the precursor to the upgraded Super Hornet, which also flies out of Oceana — is one of the Navy and Marine Corps’ longest-serving and most reliable planes. The D model, a two-seat version, entered the fleet in 1987. It’s more common in Marine Corps squadrons, which have 92 of the planes; the Navy flies 39 of them, according to Cmdr. Phil Rosi, a Navy spokesman. One of the Navy’s highest-profile squadrons — the Blue Angels flight demonstration team — flies the F/A-18D.
Those who’ve spent time in Hornets sing their praises and talk admiringly of the twin General Electric F404 engines that power them to supersonic speeds. Numerous Navy Hornet pilots — both retired and active duty — said they never experienced an engine malfunction during their careers.
“It’s an extraordinary airplane in terms of its resilience,” said George Dom, a retired Navy pilot who served as commander of Carrier Air Wing 7 at Oceana and, before that, as commanding officer of the Blue Angels.
Dom, who retired in 2003, said he lost a leading edge flap while flying a Hornet at very high speed and was able to land. And he said he’s seen Hornet pilots survive midair collisions and return to base.
One scenario experts and pilots discount in Friday’s crash is dual engine failure.
“The reason that Navy planes have two engines is because the odds of two engines failing simultaneously are close to nil,” said John Pike, a military aviation expert who runs the website globalsecurity.org. “It would have to be a common failure mode, and one thing the two engines have in common is the fuel system.”
Pike theorized that the jet, which belonged to Oceana’s training squadron, the Gladiators of Strike Fighter Squadron 106, had a clogged fuel line … READ MORE

Al-Qaida, still smarting from the loss of its iconic leader Osama bin Laden, appears determined to capture the south Yemeni town of Loder in a bid to build itself a secure base in the Arabian Peninsula.
Its location between three provinces gives Loder strategic importance, and it can also provide a safe haven from bombardment from the sea, experts say, adding that the militant group is seeking to extend its influence across the region.
Despite the loss of an estimated 152 men in four days of fighting in and around Loder in Abyan province, Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) is still engaging Yemeni soldiers and local tribesmen in fierce firefights.
“Al-Qaida has practically lost its refuges in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq, after it was crushed in Saudi Arabia,” says Mustafa Ani, an expert on jihadi groups.
He says that following Bin Laden’s killing in Pakistan by US special forces on May 1 2011, the network he founded has been weakened and is now “seeking to establish a safe haven in southern Yemen.
“Such a refuge would allow them to set up training camps and centres for recruitment and selection of leaders.”
Elements of Al-Qaida, who call themselves Partisans of Sharia (Islamic law), already control large swathes of southern Yemen, notably the Abyan provincial capital of Zinjibar, which they seized in May last year… READ MORE
