Sunday night, President Barack Obama said on CBS’ 60 Minutes television program, “…And the contrast in visions between where I want to take the country and what – where they [GOP conservatives] say they want to take the country is gonna be stark.”
The crucial crossroads America has reached couldn’t be made any more clear. In 2012, one vision of America will win and one will lose. That is why we are calling the upcoming year “America’s Year of Decision.”
The real question is, “What are we going to do about it?”

“What are we going to do about it?”
How do we impress on our fellow Americans the importance of this election? How do we alert them to the choice that must be made, and made loud and clear! How can we turn the tide of selfishness and greed – no, not corporate greed, but individual greed – that pushes each of us to reach beyond our means?

There was a day, not that long ago, that women were happy and content teaching their children at home, and training them in the “american way.”
-
There was a day, not that long ago, that men and women respected one another as human beings, different, yet of equal value.
-
There was a day not that long ago, that even Democrats and Republicans could sit down together and enjoy each others’ company
-
There was a day, not that long ago, that people of different faiths could mingle and laugh and cry together in their communities because they were friends – neighbors.
-
There was a day, not so long ago, that America was known as the melting pot – people of various ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds came together and ASSIMILATED – not leaving their homeland behind, but picking up the culture of the new land, the America that welcomed (s) legal immigrants as part of our national identity.
This America did not vanish overnight, nor solely with the election of President Obama, however, his regime, his administration has magnified the gulfs, focused on our differences, and eliminating the common ground – the thing(s) that make America unique. Immigrants came to America not because of any guarantees of success, but a guarantee of a shot! They came because their homeland inhibited them, and America enabled them to take their best shot. There have never been guarantees of success, unlike the whiny Wall St protestors dream. Those who succeeded in the past are those who busted their butts. They dared to follow a dream, a personal dream. Some made it, many did not, but all were better off than they were in the country of their origin. This is what America has signed away. This is what America needs to re-discover. American Exceptionalism!
“What are we going to do about it?”
But most of all, we are going to re-educate ourselves on America’s history, because where we’ve come from defines who America is just like we will define the America we want at the polls November 2012!
And it starts with Christmas!
