It’s been a few days and most of the dust has settled after the fairly disgracing show put on by our Republican candidates at the Las Vegas debate. I was frustrated and embarrassed by their behavior. The 2012 election is so vitally important, and yet few of those on that stage reflected the enormity of the that.
Even though this was a most discouraging debate (Las Vegas debate), the encouragement is this — it has happened before, and often. Our Founding Fathers got into an even worse brawl at the Constitutional Convention. It got so heated, and the attacks so personal, that many feared fistfights, or even duels. When just about everyone was threatening to go home, and there was a real possibility that the fragile union would dissolve, a remarkable breakthrough happened. How? The same way we can get through the present state and come out into a remarkable place.
At the height of the vitriol Benjamin Franklin prevailed on the delegates to take three days off to go to church and pray for Divine intervention. After this time of prayer such a unity came that the delegates returned to the convention hall and quickly drafted the Constitution that has preserved our nation to this day.
Capricious, immature leaders is what the Lord told Israel they would have if they departed from Him. We are a nation that has departed from the Lord. Our leadership, in virtually every field, reflects just such a condition. We are not going to be able to get ourselves out of this one — but we have One who will most gladly help us if we will turn to Him.
Let’s face it — there is no champion on the horizon that can save us. That is not a negative confession, but rather it can be an acknowledgement that causes us to turn to the only One who can get us out of this. PLEASE READ MORE
The Eagle Will Soar Again
Right now just getting conservatives to quit fighting and turning their energy to giving us solutions would be a major miracle. Could we stretch even more and bringing the whole country together? I know that takes incomprehensible faith just to consider, but an eagle needs both a left and a right wing to fly. Think about it.
I would never advocate compromising our convictions, especially on moral and social issues. However, our entire ship of state is sinking, and if we don’t quickly decide that we are going to work together to fix some of the biggest holes in the ship we’re all going down.
The divisions are so great right now that only a move of God could bring us together, and if we wake up to this it would end up being the best thing that could have happened to us. The solution:
Pray Humble ourselves Turn from our wicked ways Seek His face
No heroes in sight, so We-the-People – each have to do our part. If WE don’t, it won’t happen!
ANKARA, Turkey — A powerful 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Turkey on Sunday, killing at least 85 people and sparking widespread panic as it collapsed dozens of buildings into piles of twisted steel and chunks of concrete.
Tens of thousands of residents fled into the streets running, screaming and trying to reach relatives on cell phones. As the full extent of the damage became clear, desperate survivors dug into the rubble with their bare hands, trying to rescue the trapped and the injured. READ MORE HERE
WE-the-PEOPLE are awake now!
We are making ourselves ready. Preparing as best we can. We are armed with TRUTH and our CONSTITUTION … and training ourselves in our personal freedoms as outlined therein. We are joining together, rallying our cause … the cause of FREEDOM, to which our GOD is not impartial.
Exactly two weeks after we submitted our request for U.N. Special Rapporteur Ahmed Shaheed to intervene on Pastor Youcef’s behalf, Mr. Shaheed publicly asked before the United Nations’ General Assembly’s third committee that Iran release Pastor Youcef.
Presenting his interim report to the committee, Mr. Shaheed expressed his concern over Iran’s repeated violations of human rights, and he specifically cited the country’s judicial system for its complicity. He cited the Judiciary for practices of torture, cruel or degrading treatment of detainees, and the impositions of the death penalty without necessary safeguards. Furthermore, Mr. Shaheed identified that the Iranian Judiciary denied alleged criminals access to legal counsel and medical treatment, and he highlighted Iran’s “widespread use of secret and public executions.” Mr. Shaheed acknowledged that Iran carries out “[s]ecret group executions inside prisons, which regularly occur in alarmingly high numbers, [and] are often carried out without the knowledge and presence of family and lawyers.” PLEASE READ MORE
Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani’s case has gone before Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and Nadarkhani’s lawyer believes a decision could come in the next few weeks.
The pastor, who was imprisoned in 2009 for refusing to require his son to study the Quran, received international attention after he was charged with apostasy. Eighty-nine members of Congress, on both sides of the aisle, have sent letters calling on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to insist the U.N. step in. And the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) has sent Clinton a petition signed by 178,000 people calling for the Iranian government to release the pastor.
Todd Nettleton with Voice of the Martyrs said that a fulfillment of an apostasy sentence would be rare. “In the last 20 years, no Christian has been executed by the state for apostasy,” Nettleton said according to Mission Network News. “So, it’s rare that we have a verdict and that the sentence is actually carried out.”

At the Federal Communications Commission’s June 9, 2011 Agenda meeting, Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau Chief Jamie Barnett, joined by representatives from FEMA and the National Weather Service, announced that the first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) would take place at 2:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on November 9, 2011. The purpose of the test is to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS as a public alert mechanism. EAS Participants currently participate in state-level monthly tests and local-level weekly tests, but no top-down review of the entire system has ever been undertaken. The Commission, along with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), will use the results of this nationwide test to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS as a public alert mechanism, and will work together with EAS stakeholders(stakeholders? What’s this?) to make improvements to the system as appropriate.
My main concern about this is that I cannot think of a situation that might warrant the use of a NATIONAL alert system. This is a very large nation, and what effects the north usually doesn’t hit the south. What might threaten the East, usually doesn’t threaten the west. Short of another 9/11 type event … GOD FORBID … and even that didn’t much effect chaos in Alaska or Hawaii … or even much of the west coast. STATES (You remember, the 10th Amendment) should be the “Sovereign” entity in emergencies. They are certainly much closer to local issues, and more able to render the assistance appropriate for that situation in a timely manner.
Seems to me, just another power grab! Just sayin …

She cried and cried alone was she, for no one could stand her mourning. She paced back and forth, tears streaking her face, and wondered why no one embraced her.
She grew and grew and little by little, she started to see outside. She saw other kids laugh, and she saw others kids play, still no one approached her at all.
This puzzled this dear one, and caused her to think, think hard about what others knew. They knew how to laugh, and they knew how to play, but they didn’t know how to break through.
This sad little girl, became a melancholy young lady, and still her depression grew. Alone in the dark, she pondered her fate, and waited for her knight in white armor.
Alas, sighed she, wherever can he be, this courageous, magnificent Savior … When lo and behold, as she called out his name, He claimed her and set her aflame.
Nay, not just an ordinary candlelight flame, but a richer, much brighter zeal. She turned her eyes outward and opened them wide, and soon purposeful joy overwhelmed her.
“When you look away from the weight you bear,” she said as she turned again and looked outward, “Then suddenly all that appears unfair, seems only a trap to impair.”
