“Surely the way is clear. Though Time has brought us many over the centuries; some friends and some not, but most we have outlived. We take much Time, for Time we have, to make decisions wise. Our speech is such as uses Time well, we think, but talk we not much unless it is so deemed that vital the cause is. Now behold, the forest, the last of our kind, and rest safe and kept under its canopy of leaves.”
“Things will go as they will; and there is no need to hurry to meet them.” ~ Treebeard
VOICE WEEK #3 – Thanks BEKINDREWRITE
DAY 1 Wandering Along
Day 2 Deep in the Forest
I like the post but the picture reminds me of a horror movie I watched as a child (that I really shouldn’t have watched) of talking and walking trees that were murderous!
Oh my! I used to like “scary” movies because to me they weren’t scary – only silly! Now, scary means gory, I generally look elsewhere for entertainment! lol
This is part of a writing exercise offered by BEKINDREWRITE – link is on the bottom of the post, if interested! 🙂
I first read the trilogy Lord of the Rings when I was 13 (after falling in love with The Hobbit). They are some of my favorite books full of fantasy and wisdom and I re-read them from time to time. (And Hollywood actually did a fair job with the movies, though a lot had to be left out).
Yes I agree … The movies are a fair representation of the novels. This is part of a fun writing activity using different “voices” to describe the same item or scene. It was a “no brainer” for me to use the “voice” of Treebeard as one of those to describe the forest! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🙂

I love the rhythm of this voice. And I can feel his age. Beautiful.
Oh, and “bah-ra-oom!”

The old, strong, powerful and wise voice comes across clearly.
Thank you so much for your kind and helpful words! This has been a fun exercise! What a great idea, huh? lol
