Not the original intention
When America was birthed,
Big Brother government it seems,
Most gluttonous on earth!
He started small, but well empowered,
He guarded his freedom well,
Part-time Representatives,
Principled to excel.
He grew and grew, this scrapping boy,
His power increased too,
And as so often happens,
His principles he skewed.
Confusion now is everywhere,
He’s obese beyond good health,
Feeding on government-regulated love,
Grown soft under indulgent wealth.
Don’t let them find me moaning so,
Big Brothers fatted friends,
Heaven only knows what happens next,
Will faith and integrity end?
